Kelly Clarkson and The Fray — an unlikely yet a powerhouse combination are co-headling an extensive  U.S. summer tour. What a real treat for their fans who will get to experience power pop-rock driven uptempo and ballads from Kelly Clarkson, and piano rock – alternative soaring melodies from The Fray.

Kelly Clarkson’s big win as the first American Idol became the springbroad for a commercially successful singing career.  Her first single “A Moment Like This” in 2002, debuted at number 52, yet made an epic leap to number one at the Billboard Hot 100 chart, breaking The Beatles’ record, no less,  for a song’s biggest leap to number  one on the Billboard charts.  To date, Kelly Clarkson keeps her tight reign as the most successful Idol contestant worldwide, with 23 million albums and 36 million singles sold.  She continues to deliver an unbroken string of chart-topping and memorable hits like “Because of You”. “All I Ever Wanted”, “My Life Would Suck Without You”. and recently, “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”.

The Fray’s piano driven rock – alternative sound is like a breath of fresh air. Their mid-tempo and soaring ballads was first heard from their debut album “How To Save a Life” in 2005, and brought them chart success in many parts of the world. The album title track was also used by TV series’ Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, as episode soundtracks.  Their debut album also spawned an equally successful track entitled “Over My Head (Cable Car)”.    Their sophomore self-titled album in 2009, continued to produce radio hits and successful record sales, from the singles “You Found Me”  and “Never Say Never”.  Their newfound mainstream success also earned for The Fray a Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy Award nomination in 2010.  The band forges on with their third album ‘Scars and Stories” released in 2011.
